SAVE THE STRAYS

SAVE THE STRAYS

Sara Mostafa

Hello to all of you lovely people,

This is the closest piece to my heart so I wanted to tell you some more about the Save The Stray's Tee. If you are someone who knows me in real life then you know that I love all types of animals and that I can't look away when one needs me.

I decided to channel that energy into this t-shirt. I realised living in Cairo that there is a huge stray problem. There are more stray animals in Egypt than there are humans and the Egyptian population is over 100 million! Many citizens think that it is okay to poison or starve the stray cats and dogs. That goes completely against my beliefs so I decided to use this t-shirt to spread Trap Neuter Return (TNR).

TNR is a means of population control, the animals are taken, neutered and vaccinated then returned to the street. This is the kindest way we can control the stray population and even keep them healthy. Animals are here with us, they are not here for us. It is by making that important distinction that we can treat them with respect and not exploit them.

For every Save the Strays Tee sold, I will use it's profits to neuter a cat in the street. Why cats and not dogs? I am totally a cat lady but I absolutely adore dogs as well, the reason I picked cats has nothing to do with preference and more to do with the fact that catching dogs is more widespread and easier to do, I just want to bring the cats to an equal footing as the dogs. This requires more specialised catchers and I am so excited to vlog the process for you guys, once I have raised enough to neuter a bunch of cats <3

If you would like to help us or collaborate with us as an organisation that offers TNR we would be delighted to be contacted by you. Our aim is to sponsor at least 25 cats. If you have any questions or would like to know more about TNR let us know in the comments below and we can continue the conversation!

Love always, Sara
